Dear friends, official website of 22nd European Meeting of the Paleopathology Association (PPA) that will happen on 28th August – 1st September 2018, Zagreb, Croatia is now open.

    Is it possible to present a paper even though I am not a member of the Association? When can I submit the abstract?

      Don’t worry, it is possible to present the paper although you are not a member of the Paleopathology Association. The exact dates will be published by the end of this week.

      Indeed, the whole meeting (except one workshop) will be held in our main conference venue, i.e. Hotel Sheraton.     Will the scientific program begin on 28 August or on 29 August? If on the 28th, will it be all day or only partial? I just want to be sure to plan travel accordingly given that I will be coming from the western U.S.

      Dear Brenda,

      The scientific program will begin on 29th August in the morning with the first key-note speaker and after it will continue with the regular program (podium presentations). The 28th is planned for the arrival and registration of the conference attendees and in the evening we’ll have a short opening ceremony followed by the welcome reception.

    I would like to submit the abstract for a poster as first author, but I can not attend the conference. On the contrary, my coauthors will be there and one of them can present the poster. Can I submit the abstract? Should I pay a registration fee?

      Thank you for your email.
      Of course, you can submit the abstract as first author. So, some of your co-authors will present it. However, although you won’t be attending the conference, as the first author you have to pay the registration fee.

          Dear Francesca,

          We didn’t put any limitations on the number of posters presented by one author. However, I think three posters per author should be maximum, especially considering that you’ll have to stand in front of your poster(s) at allocated times. So, in case of multiple posters (more than three) you won’t be able to present them properly.
